Product Description Lumocolor refill station for the refilling of Lumocolor non permanent marker pens. Each refill station contains 15 ml. The practical design of the refill station allows easy and clean refilling of non permanent pens. Simply insert the marker into the refill station and minutes later the pen is ready for use. The pen is completely refilled after 3-4 hours. It is impossible to overfill the pen as it only draws its own maximum ink content out of the refill station. It worked...It was purchased for some one else... a teacher that uses the most obscure pen in the world.Turns out that for her.. only one make model and pen tip size works on what amounts to an overhead projector. The pens in the 1mm size are hard to find - and, not particularly cheap...They are labeled as refillable... She never figured out - how that was possible... She kept trying to figure out how to disassemble them.Which is not necessary...The instructions for use are in the wrap around label on what for all intents and purposes is an ink well.Took her awhile to figure out the label thing...After that it is pure simplicity. It turns out that the Refill Station is part pump, part metered reservoir, and part support stand.Just unscrew the cap, insert pen with cap removed - and, press down. When you press down, a metered quantity of ink gets pumped into the holding well. The tip of the pen rests in the well for a few hours.Capillary attraction sucks up into a nearly dry pen...You can keep recharging a dry pen until the tip wears out.Now she wishes that she had held onto all those old dried out pens - and/or - not mauled them with pliers trying to take them apart. If you have a pen that lasts thru 5 recharges the Refill station will pay for itself. If you have a draw full of dry pens, It'll pay for itself in a day.It does only do one pen at a time... and, the soak time is hours...So, I would recommend one pen - per day... one pen overnight, etc.If you kept an eye on them, you might do 3 or 4 a day.Caveat....The pens and the recharging stations have to match up...The inks vary. Some are for permanent markers. Some are for white board markers. Some are non-permanent for use on glass or transparencies..It was purchased for some one else... a teacher that uses the most obscure pen in the world.Turns out that for her.. only one make model and pen tip size works on what amounts to an overhead projector. The pens in the 1mm size are hard to find - and, not particularly cheap...They are labeled as refillable... But, It works, I love it, Thank-you to Vicki for the gift card to get it.Great refill for the Staedtler erasable markers. You stick the pen tip into the top of the refill overnight and the pen is refilled the next day by capillary action.Product works very well, our office loves being able to refill the markers instead of purchasing brand new pens.Great ProductLost a star because nowhere was it made clear in the instructions or online that the pen will NOT refill by simple capillary action, as was implied in the description of the product. Other reviewers have also mentioned this. However, I got around the problem by inserting the pen tip firmly into the opening of the container and then placing the 2 attached items upside down in a tall drinking glass, so that the pen is more or less upright and attached to the ink container which is now upside down and above the pen, so that the ink can flow by gravity into the pen tip. The ink doesn't leak if the pen tip has been placed FIRMLY into the ink container opening. Leave for several hours or overnight. Remove the pen & ink container, still attached, and turn them upside down on a counter. The ink container is now upright and underneath the still attached pen. Use a kleenex or paper towel with your fingers to slowly remove the pen and wipe the excess ink from the pen tip. By doing this the Lumocolor pen can be successfully refilled.
